Jatiluhur Dam held an event

Last week, i went to one of small district in west java, named Purwakarta, for a jazz event. I played with a big band. We played at 7 p.m, check sound at 4 p.m, so we went there at 11 a.m and got there at 2 p.m. Had enough time to take a rest.

We played at Jatiluhur DAM, one of bigest Dam in Java island. I didn’t really imagine how it looked like, because… a dam? We played in some dam? How was it really?

Turned out, it was a big dam sector. It became a tourist area actually. And this event was the first jazz event to held there.

Sorry for the line is just for event’s marker.

It’s a good trip. If i wasn’t playing with them, perhaps i’ll not go there until i’ll play for the event, lol.

It was raining after i took picture, but not really a bad rainstorm, just… a rain. Well, it’s kinda hot in afternoon, hot and humid, but as the time went (and also rain) it became pretty good.

The Jatiluhur Dam is a multi-purpose embankment dam on the Citarum River in West Java, Indonesia. It is located 70 km (43 mi) east of Jakarta, close to the medium-size town of Purwakarta.

Jatiluhur Dam was designed by Coyne et Bellier and was constructed between 1957 and 1965 while the power station become operational in 1967. The dam serves several purposes including the provision of hydroelectric power generation, water supply, flood control, irrigation and aquaculture. (source : here)

I think, that’s all. I just want to show you there’s something wonderful i didn’t know before. And, if you want to go there, you can reach it by car. There’s no debit card pays. Just with cash. Also it’s not a big tourism place. It had lots of stall and some children’s arcade. Imagine a simple night market, but opened in daylight. LOL.

That’s all!

Thank you, Jatiluhur Jazz festival!

Thank you, Purwakarta!
